Who likes Swimming Lessons: Children classes?
Learning to swim has to start somewhere and this beginner swimming class for children moves one toward independence in the water. Children ages 5 to 12 who are the children and grandchildren of WK Fitness & Wellness Center members have the option to take swimming lessons with us. Adults must remain at WK Fitness & Wellness Center with their child.
What is the Swimming Lessons: Children class?
Children and grandchildren of WK Fitness & Wellness Center members can take swimming lessons at various times of the year. The children’s swimming class is for kids 5 to 12 years of age. No exceptions.
Instructors divide the class into two types of swimmers on the first day of class: sharks and minnows. Sharks are children ages 5 to 12 who can swim one-quarter to one-half the length of the swimming pool independently. In this class, swimmers work on strokes and endurance.
Minnows are children ages 5 to 12 who are just learning how to swim. The class concentrates on floating, kicking, putting their faces in the water, gliding and using their arms.
Children should be dressed and ready to get in the swimming pool upon arriving for the lessons.
Bring goggles and a towel from home for your child.
Parents and grandparents must stay at the fitness center while the child is taking their lesson. They are welcome to watch their child or grandchild during the lessons. You may NOT drop off your child or grandchild.
Children are not allowed to use the showers. Children are not allowed in the whirlpool or steam room inside the locker room.
Watch as your kid learns to master movements in the water just as they did on land. Swimming is fun, and great exercise, too!
When and where does the Swimming Lessons: Children class meet?
