The fitness staff strongly recommends that every new member participate in the fitness assessment. There is no fee for this initial assessment unless a maximal stress test is required. The assessment includes a submaximal cardiovascular test, muscular strength and endurance and flexibility testing, estimation of body composition, and fasting blood analysis. Blood work can be done at the Centers or at the adjoining hospital. In some cases a physician’s referral may be required before a fitness assessment is administered. Periodic reassessments are provided at a nominal fee upon a member’s request. After the fitness assessment is completed, results are gathered and calculated and given to each member in a computer generated report. Using these results, our fitness staff prescribes and takes you step by step through your individualized fitness program. Exercise prescriptions are reevaluated on a regular basis or at the request of the member.
