Our group fitness classes offer a friendly atmosphere with a personalized approach to exercise. Classes are taught by nationally certified instructors who excel in motivating and educating. We offer many multi-level classes that will challenge the “fit” member and encourage the “novice” exerciser.

If you have any orthopedic or medical problems, our instructors can offer modifications of specific exercises to meet your needs.

Who likes Shine Dance Fitness classes? 

Shine Dance Fitness is for men and women ages 18 and older who want to go to the gym and enjoy a workout with fun music. In Shine Dance Fitness, it is easy to get lost in the rhythm of the music, sometimes forgetting that you’re working out. This class is for all abilities and levels of fitness.  

What is Shine Dance Fitness class? 

Shine Dance Fitness is considered a high intensity, high impact exercise class that is pre-choreographed to music. It’s a dance-based exercise class that focuses mostly on cardiovascular fitness, with some strengthening components. Get ready for an invigorating, complete body workout! Your instructor is certified in this specific dance format. 

Founded in 2015 by dancer and choreographer Kendall Nielson, participants find joy, confidence and support from people with similar fitness goals. You'll dance to music of different genres like hip hop, ballet, jazz and some of today’s most current hits. 

Shine Dance Fitness is choreographed to a 32-count phrase. The class starts with a three- to five-minute warmup to prep you for the higher intensity portion of the class. Then you'll dance through a routine with a HIIT format that alternates higher and lower intensity rhythms. The faster songs get your heart pumping faster and the slower songs allow for active recovery. Roll through stretches during a three- to five-minute cool down at the end of the workout where you lower your heart rate in a safe way. 

If you have any physical limitations and still want to try Shine Dance Fitness, talk with the instructor. She’ll be happy to modify certain movements so it’s safe for you.   

Shine Dance Fitness is a fun way to move your body on the aerobics floor, without the use of additional equipment. 

When and where do Shine Dance Fitness classes meet?

Shine Dance Fitness classes meet at Willis Knighton Fitness Center Pierremont aerobics studio for 50 minutes.

Music is a great way to trigger pleasant memories and forget you’re even working out. Cardiovascular exercise releases endorphins, happy hormones, so you'll experience more positive thoughts and feelings along with the physical benefits.
