The background and training of our staff makes Willis Knighton Fitness Centers special. While some fitness centers are run by fitness enthusiasts who like to exercise, we believe our members deserve more. At our centers you’ll find men and women who are professionally trained in the methods and mechanics of fitness. They include American College of Sports Medicine certified Fitness Specialists and Clinical Exercise Physiologists with the academic training and knowledge to help members at every stage of their lives and health. And when you join, one of them will provide you with a customized fitness assessment and work with you to establish and reach your wellness goals.
Learn more about our Fitness Specialists:
Jay Williams has a deep concern for children growing up without the benefit of a healthy lifestyle. A WK Fitness Center veteran, he feels a greater emphasis should be focused on children’s health and fitness.
Jay holds a Bachelor of Science in exercise science and wellness/kinesiology. He explored several fields (computer science and architecture) before selecting health and fitness for his career path. In addition to his work with your family, Jay is an accomplished artist who has been featured in several venues and publications.
Personal trainers are available at each fitness and wellness center to help motivate, direct and monitor you during your workout.
Fitness assessments are a major benefit of membership that help you track progress and meet your personal fitness and wellness goals. An expert staff member uses your assessment results and your personal goals to prescribe your individualized exercise program.
All staff are academically and professionally trained to assist our members at all stages of life and health. Our fitness instructors have earned at least a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and strive to become certified by the American College of Sports Medicine.
