Holiday Survival Guide 2025 - Step into the New Year Feeling your Best

Posted Nov 27, 2025

The holiday season is full of joy, gatherings and traditions, but it can also bring stress, disrupted routines and extra indulgences. With a little planning and mindful choices, you can enjoy the festivities of the season, while protecting your health, energy and waistline. Use this quick survival guide to stay balanced, resilient and thriving all season long.

Party Perfect

  • Don’t skip meals before gatherings.
  • Fill half your plate with veggies and lean proteins.
  • Choose your favorite treat mindfully and savor slowly.
  • Stay hydrated—thirst can mimic hunger.
  • Bring a healthy dish so you will always have something to enjoy.

Keep Moving

  • Sneak in short walks after meals.
  • Try “exercise snacks”: 10 minutes of stretching or squats.
  • Make it social—holiday hikes or dancing.
  • Aim for 150 minutes of moderate activity weekly.

Prioritize Sleep

  • Aim for 7 to 9 hours of sleep nightly.
  • Keep a consistent bedtime, even during travel.
  • Limit caffeine and alcohol late in the day.
  • Try to stop eating at least 3 hours before bed.

Navigate Holiday Stress

  • Practice deep breathing or short mindfulness breaks.
  • Schedule downtime between events to recharge.
  • Focus on gratitude—write down 3 things daily.

Avoid Holiday Weight Gain

  • Balance indulgence with lighter meals the next day.
  • Practice portion control—small plates help.
  • Limit liquid calories (sodas, cocktails).
  • Remember: Consistency beats perfection.

May your holidays be filled with joy, peace and healthy choices that nourish your mind, body and spirit.
