You manage what you measure. Member fitness challenges are a fun way to measure different types of fitness as you challenge yourself to make improvements. In October, we challenge you to do the Rockport walking test to measure your cardio fitness. You’ll walk one mile as fast as you can and measure your heart rate, then plug that into a formula to measure your VO2 max. This is the amount of oxygen your body uses while exercising as hard as you can, or your maximal aerobic capacity. It’s a marker for your fitness level and can guide your exercise training. See if you can improve your VO2 max over the holidays when we do Rockport testing again in February.
