Group Fitness Classes

Our group fitness classes offer a friendly atmosphere with a personalized approach to exercise. Classes are taught by nationally certified instructors who excel in motivating and educating. We offer many multi-level classes that will challenge the “fit” member and encourage the “novice” exerciser.

If you have any orthopedic or medical problems, our instructors can offer modifications of specific exercises to meet your needs.

Saturday Workout with Variety and Challenge 

Who likes Fitness Surprise classes? 

If you like exercise and you like variety, you’ll like this class. This Saturday morning class brings a different kind of workout each week: Pilates, spin, bootcamp and more. Men and women ages 18 and older who like the intensity of an intermediate-level exercise class are members. 

What is a Fitness Surprise class? 

Fitness Surprise is exactly that, a new workout created for you every week. A different instructor each week adds even more variety. You'll have fun learning and performing Pilates, spin and bootcamp movements; maybe even some yoga, Tai Chi or Zumba.  

You must be capable of doing different types of exercises at different levels of intensity and cardiovascular output. You’ll get up and down on the floor, get on and off a spin bike, and you’ll use many different types of exercise equipment. Although a lot is required in this intermediate level Fitness Surprise class, all exercises can be modified for lower impact or to use less weight. 

Be sure and wear sensible shoes and loose-fit clothing. You can bring an exercise mat if you like your own, but all necessary equipment is provided at WK Fitness & Wellness Centers.  

The outcomes of this class are many. It’s a fun way to start your weekend that has cardiovascular and muscular benefits, not to mention the added social benefits. Members of this class see improved muscle condition, muscle tone and even added core strength.  

When and where does the Fitness Surprise class meet? 

Fitness Surprise is on Saturdays at 9 a.m. at WK Bossier Wellness Center. Each class meeting is 50 minutes in the aerobics studio. Since the class is on a Saturday, you’ll meet a variety of people who prefer a weekend class. 

Why do Fitness Surprise training? 

If you anticipate a completely new workout routine each week that provides all the physical, mental and social benefits of exercise, this class is for you. Our bodies are really good at adapting to the norm and we in fact need a greater challenge to maintain strong health. Fitness Surprise is an easy way to vary your routine with different instructors who present things in different ways, which brings that challenge. 

Class members say this class is super fun. The moderate intensity helps the body release endorphins, a feel-good, happy hormone that eases pain and increases feelings of well-being. After a good workout, members can relax in the whirlpool or steam room to help muscles recover. Showers and towel services are provided at all WK Fitness & Wellness Centers.
